An important question through a lighthearted lense...

I love this video. Makes me chortle! Partly because I love the spoof of it, but also partly because it is a great analogy for numerous conversations I have had with senior leaders.

So often, big and small companies, become so imbued with the own self-perception of greatness that they overlook the fact that they are competing, on all fronts (for market-share; talent; etc.), against others and that they will be measured against others and not their own rhetoric.

The video, to me, shows this as the person who will get the gold medal will be the one on the track…whereas the true outperformer is the person running with the camera.
